My name Amit Gupta moved to Australia in 2007 with my wife and 5 yrs. old son. It all started in 2008 after I recognised that nursing is the only profession which will make me survive, lift me up for better status in both financially and socially. It is in fact a non-negotiable choice I made in my life.

I started studying nursing and peruse my career as Assistant Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse and Master of Mental Health Nursing. Currently working as a Registered Nurse.

I am a President of my hospital of the union of NSW – Nurses and Midwife Association

I have always been passionate about nursing and admired nurses. The career is rewarding. Stepping into someone’s life at the low moments and making a difference to their experience is an incredible privilege.

I’m a perfectionist and don’t like slow progress - it frustrates me. My patients/clients and their families because they have the experience of their condition. I also learn from colleagues and other practitioners to share the best up-to-date practice and develop myself. Seek for creativity in all you do and in the people you support. Always make sure you are up to date with the best evidence-based practice.

Competence and confidence are my strengths. I am always caring, compassionate, empathetic, sympathetic, and committed to my job. I have good communication skills, courage to advocate for my patients and speak out when things are going wrong.

It’s hugely satisfying when those in my care are satisfied with the service I deliver - especially when they say, ‘Thank you nurse’.
